Background
With my determination, strength of character, integrity, reliability, empathy and humor, along with my experience working with vulnerable populations, houseless communities, DV survivors and LGBTQ2S communities, I believe that I will be a positive asset to any non-profit fighting for the rights of others. I have been working with vulnerable families and youth in Oregon for over 15 years; advocating, representing, supporting, and most importantly listening to what they have to say. Over the years, I have dedicated my career path to supporting populations (specifically vulnerable young adults) that do not have a strong voice in our society, communities that desperately need to be heard. For the past few years my focus and passion has been working with vulnerable teenage youth and houseless families who live in LGBTQ2S communities and identify with additional intersectionality struggles. I have a background working with communities (families of color, CSEC teens, DV survivors, LGBTQ2S communities, DD children & house-less communities) as well as experience working with community partners, outreach education, volunteer training, educational training and engagement, collaborative problem solving, DHS practises, mentoring and most importantly, trauma informed care and strength-based communication.. I am a calm natured, team player with high communication skills and an ability to lead with both motivation and positive feedback. I am organized, structured and communicate with others on their level, modeling respect, confidence and most importantly humor! Stay Humble & Kind, Shannon Troy
