      Background

My background is in Youth Work, Equity Work, large and small group facilitation, Change Analysis, and a combination of all of the above. I have 12+ years of experience working with youth ages 3-20, from fun summer programs to classroom equity and leadership programs. I have been chest-deep in Equity work for the last 5+ years training adults and youth in equity frameworks and anti-oppressive practices, as well as carrying out organizational analysis and work place change strategies. I specialize in gender (particularly transgender rights), queer, and disability anti-oppressive practices. I have additional skills and practice in mediation, mental health first aid, trauma-informed care, meditation, and outdoor education. Some qualities you can count on to be at the core of my work are: enthusiasm and positivity; patience and directness; exceptional communication; exceptional strategic thinking balanced with strong empathy and person-centered thinking; passion, commitment and hard work; exceptional relationship building; active and reflective listening; and deep understanding of the interaction between the micro and the macro.
